Thanks to Team Lineage OS Developers, and thanks to all Lineage OS contributers like myself.
Please make sure that you have a working back-up stored on the sd card. I can not be held responsible for any issues that may or may not come up because you are the only person making changes on the device. Make sure the battery is charged. Use TWRP to wipe the device data, and advanced data sections, but DO NOT WIPE THE SD CARD. Install ROM, and the correct version of gapps for android 7.1.2_r29. At the time of this post this is the newest version of Lineage OS made for the HTC One M8 currently available on the net.
